The sealing ring comprises a tape (3) which has bulb-shaped thickened parts (4) on the sides facing the housing (1) and the cover (2). These parts are at relative distances, and engage independently on housing and cover, so as to be fluid-tight. The parts snap into grooves in housing and cover. The parts may be pressed against housing and/or cover, by clips and/or clamp rails (5). The sealing tape may be a U-shaped profile, with at least one stop buffer (6), which projects into the profile. At least one of the thickened parts is glued to housing or cover.
