The prosthesis has passages (14) which extend from the profiled upper surface to the inner hollow cavity of the shank. An insert containing at least one medicinal active ingredient (2) is contained in the hollow cavity next to the passages which have a size enabling the active ingredient to be diffused into the bone material directly surrounding the shank. The tubular or slot-type passages (10.1) are positioned in the deep sections (16.1) of the shank profiling.
