An assembly to clean bulk solids incorporates a centrifuge (11), a vacuum pump (13) and several vessels (15,17,19,21) which are linked to the centrifuge (11) by pipes (25) controlled by valves (33-39, 57). Washing solns. can be passed from the respective vessels (15,17,19,21) through the pipes (25) to the centrifuge (11). Pumps (41,43) return solns. from the centrifuge (11) to one of the subsequent vessels (15,17,19,21). Impure soln. is removed from the centrifuge (11) through a pipe (51) controlled by a valve (49). Indicators (63) signal the fluid levels in the vessels (15,17,19,21,24). The centrifuge (11) can be ventilated by an air valve (53).
