Container for cultivating seedlings and method for making same. The container is made of a material comprising natural textile fibres joined together by a binder of a hot-melt or heat soluble material, wherein a plurality of natural fibres such as flax, wool, cotton and the like, are mixed in precisely defined proportions and fed in shredded state into a mixer. A binder, also in shredded state, is fed into the mixer for homogeneous incorporation into said natural fibres, whereafter the mixture is transferred to an enclosure for melting or dissolving said binder in order to bind together the plurality of fibres, and the resulting material is provided, at the exit of said enclosure, as a web which is then pre-cut and stamped by known means such as a hot-pressing machine. |
