Process and device for the production of ultrafine powders, whereby there is provided, in an electrolysis cell (1), an electrolytic bath (2) wherein electrodes (3 and 4) are dipped and containing elements in solution for forming said powders, a high density pulsed electrolysis current being generated between said electrodes (3 and 4) and pressure waves being emitted from the electrode (3) next to which the powder is formed.
