Lining of combustion chamber wall

Lining of a combustion chamber wall has two layers (4, 6) of refractory ceramic bricks, compsn. or mouldings. The 1st layer (4) is made of high heat conducting ceramic which protects the wall (1) against corrosive gas and the 2nd layer (6) has high temp. resistance and high chemical and slagging resistance and acts as exchangeable wear layer. The 1st layer (4) is made of SiC ceramic material contg. at least 50 wt.% SiC or at least 80 wt.%. The 2nd layer (6) is made of a ceramic material contg. at least 50 wt.% Al2O3 and slagging resisting additives, e.g. tar or Cr. The material of the 1st layer has a higher heat conductivity than the 2nd. Anchors (5) are provided on the walls (1) finishing in the 1st or 2nd layer. The bricks or mouldings of the 2nd layer are held together by a groove and tongue joint.
