A prokaryotic vector contains a controllable expression control sequence that may be repressed by the tetracycline resistance gene repressor. Also disclosed is a prokaryotic cell transformed by this vector and the use of the vector or cell in a process for producing polypeptides in prokaryotes by genetic engineering.
