A garment hanger has a main body having suspension device 2, preferably a hook, for supporting the hanger in use. One or more arms 3, 4 define the body of the hanger and conveniently extend outwardly from the suspension device. Extension members 6, 7 extend from the main body so that when the hanger is in use a remote end of the extension members is below the main body. A garment support, preferably a cross-bar, is mounted on the remote end of the extension members for supporting a garment thereon. Each extension member is provided with a hinge 11, 12, conveniently an integral hinge, which is located intermediate the ends of the extension member so that when packing the hanger with the garment, or for storage, the extension members are foldable about the hinge and the remote ends of the extension members overlie the main body of the hanger.
