Ambient warm air is drawn into the cooling unit over a heat exchanger and discharged through a ventilator, passing over a hydroturbine unit. The hydroturbine (14) is situated within the ventilator section (11) of the cooling unit housing (10). A serpentine tubular heat exchanger (18) cools the air entering the unit which is then drawn over the hydroturbine by a fan (15), to be discharged. The cooling medium may be a 40% ice mixture with water.
