A brushless electrical motor (1) has windings (XYZ) supplied by a drive circuit (2) with commutation signals provided by Hall effect sensors (23). The drive circuit receives pulse width modulated signals from a unit (33) that responds to a microprocessor based regulator (31) and a control unit (4). Velocity feedback is provided by a sensor (11) that acts as a tachogenerator (F6). The tachogenerator signal is evaluated to determine a correction signal that is applied to eliminate variations due to torque variations.
