A carrying device for an infusion system comprises a base plate 1, transport handles 3, 5 situated either side of pumping mechanisms 2, 7 and a holding device attached to a metal sheet 13 to enable the attachment of the device to a rail whereby the holding device fits over a rail, such as on a bed frame, which may be rounded or rectangular in shape. Attached to a transport/infusion rod 4 is a cantilever transport arm 10 which may serve as a further carrying handle. The device may be fitted with a second transport arm having a coupling plug which engages with a coupling box on a sleeve of the transport/infusion rod thus allowing the infusion device to be separated from the transport rod and base plate. The use of two transport handles 3, 5 limits the tipping of infusion system and bottles 16 in transit. <IMAGE>
