The system, partic. diesel-engine driven, comprises any number of trucks (16) forming a train and driven by a power unit. The latter is divided into control (12) and driving (14) vehicles, the latter being situated at a suitable position in the train and remote-controlled. Several drive vehicles can be used to provide the necessary power. They can be controlled without using wires from the control vehicle, which can have running gear as used for a passenger coach, being complete with water sanitation and washing facilities.
