Component consists of a base material, completely or partially provided with a coating contg. an adhesive component having an adhesive region bordering the base material and at least one functional component. The thermal expansion coefft. of the coating in the adhesive region corresponds to that of the base material at the operating temp.. The functional component (5) has a thermal expansion smaller than that of the base material (2) and is enriched in a compression stress region (7) of the coating (3) away from the adhesive region (6) so that compression stresses are induced at the operating temp. of the component.
