Described are a method and device for the manufacture of a molecular sieve for removing molecular pollutants, in particular SO2 and NOx, from a fluid. The invention also concerns the molecular sieves thus obtained, which include a support material with a large internal surface area and with a metal oxide layer, the support material being subjected to an electrical gas discharge in order to implant metal ions in the support material.
