A colour c.r.t. has a front plate (2a) and a main tube section (4), both of glass and coupled together with a profiled metal element (8) at the point of highest loading. The connection is provided using a glass bonding solder. The front plate (2a) and tube are produced of a standard material and the metal connector is of 13 Cr.-Fe alloy. The mounting points for the perforated mash (10) are provided by spring elements (13) mounted on bolts (12).
