<p>In a so-called multiline driving system, (1) a selected period is divided into a plurality of subselected periods (t11, t21, t31 and t41) and the subselected periods are dispersed in one-frame period, and (2) each subselected period is further divided into a plurality of divided subselected periods ((s1, s2), (s3, s4), (s5, s6), (s7, s8)). The potentials of selected signals are interchanged in the divided subselected periods in one frame so as to offset the influence of a spike-like voltage from the scanning signal impressed upon adjacent scanning electrodes. By this invention, (1) uneven display in the direction of signal electrodes (generally, in the longitudinal direction) can be suppressed, (2) uneven display in the direction of signals electrodes does not become more marked and no flickering occurs even when displayed contents momently change, and (3) no uneven display occurs in the direction of the scanning electrodes (generally, in the lateral direction).</p> |
