Automatic entry and exit control for car park

A vehicle access control system has an entry point (E) where the user is issued with a ticket (T) enters the closed area, e.g. car park (B) through a barrier (EB). The ticket details and time of entry are recorded by a unit (E). When leaving the ticket is presented and the charge (AG) paid. Information (10) is presented to the exit unit (A). The user has a specific period in which to leave the car park. The vehicle is detected by a sensor (11) at the exit and the ticket is presented for identification to initiate opening of the barrier.
