Belt support against fixed carrier

A support system for a moving belt at a fixed carrier, has a hydrostatic and/or hydrodynamic lubricated support surface (2). The support (1), alone or together with other supports, is in a liq. collection container (5), with its open side towards the supported surface of the belt (3). It is structured so that the liq. within has a good thermal conductivity with the sections of the support (1) subjected to undesired heat stress. The liq. in the container (5) can impose no pressure on the surface of the belt (3) to be supported.
