Hinge with spring mechanism for vehicle boot lid esp. saloon

The hinge consists of a pair of bent levers (13,14) positioned one each side of the boot lid (3) with one end (12) attached via a pivot (11) and support arm (10) to the vehicle body (2) and the other (15) to the boot lid. A spring mechanism esp. torsion bars (19,20) one attached to each lever reduces the force required to lift the lid or makes it fully self-lifting. The torsion bars are positioned within the recess for the water channel (6) intended to catch and divert water leaking past the seal (15).
