A hand-held drill has a toolholder having a short axial overall length, which is mounted on a drive spindle of the drill in a manner to secure against unintentional axial displacement. The toolholder 10 has a first tool seat 11 having clamp jaws 22 for securing a tool having a round stem and a second tool seat 12 for securing a tool having a fluted stem. The toolholder has at least one connecting element 26 comprising radial pins 19 which engage a base body 17 and a driveable rotary spindle 14 to lock the two together. An unlocking sleeve 44 holds the pins in place but can be slid away against the bias of a spring 40. <IMAGE>
