<p>Air cooling apparatus has a casing (1) containing two air flow paths (12, 14) through one of which (14) cooled fresh air is supplied to a house, while the other (12) receives stale air from the house. An efficient heat exchanger (10) pre-cools the fresh air with heat extracted from the stale air. Further cooling is achieved by evaporative cooling of water from two honeycomb structures (15, 16) respectively spanning the two air flow paths. A pump (17) circulates cooled water to the upper end of one of the structures (15) from the lower end of the other structure (16) which receives, at its upper end, the water which has percolated down through the upper structure.</p> |
