Electrospray of a liquid sample into a MS apparatus is carried out by nebulising the sample in an environment at a reduced pressure (P1), accelerating the liquid particles in the direction of a one-way tube aligned with the liquid exit duct and making it pass through the tube, and ionising at least part of the liquid in the ionisation chamber of the (MS) apparatus at a reduced pressure (P2), higher than the reduced pressure (P1).
