A monitoring device (20) comprises a detector-indicator (40) associated with a switching device (60) which ensures simultaneous monitoring of two hydraulic elements, for example a filter (2) and a booster pump (3). If one of the elements develops a fault the switching device (60) automatically applies the pressure differential across the faulty element to the detector-indicator, which gives a warning by moving rod 42 directly this pressure differential exceeds a reference threshold. The invention is applicable to fuel or oil supply circuits.
