The invention relates to a haymaking machine with a crossmember which supports at least eight rotary rakes (1 to 8) rotatable about vertical axes and which comprises a middle member (14) attachable or mountable on an agricultural tractor or suchlike traction vehicle (11) and having two middle rotary rakes (1, 2) and lateral members (18, 19, 36, 37, 40, 41) articulated on the middle member (14), connected to one another in an articulated manner and intended for further rotary rakes (3 to 8), the lateral members (18, 19, 36, 37, 40, 41) being foldable out of their operating position into a transport position reducing the machine width, to transfer the lateral members (18, 19, 36, 37, 40, 41) out of the operating position into the transport position the first lateral members (18, 19) adjacent to the middle member (14) and the second lateral members (36, 37) adjacent to these being respectively foldable upwards about approximately horizontal axes parallel to the direction of travel and the third lateral members (40, 41) adjacent to the second lateral members (36, 37) being respectively foldable rearwards about approximately vertical folding axes (42, 43).
