PURPOSE:To highly activate a catalyst and enhance productivity by preparing slurry from a mixture of an oxidized catalyst, ceramic fibers and a binder and forming an exhaust gas purifying catalyst by means of said slurry. CONSTITUTION:Ceramic fibers to enhance dispersion degree of oxidized catalyst, and a catalyst effective for oxidization decomposition of unburnt gas and carbon monoxide and working as a skeleton of catalyst are mixed into slurry-like state. Said slurry-like mixture is processed to form an exhaust gas purifying catalyst. In order to highly activate said catalyst, it is suitable that a precious metal such as platinum, rhodium, palladium or the like is carried on the surface of catalyst. The catalyst thus prepared is porous and with small heat volume and can be resistant to the temperature to function as catalyst in a short period of time to lessen energy required for heating. |
