<p>The helicopter (20) has an on-board tank (1) linked to a pumping system (2). It has a doser (36) for producing a water/emulsifier mixture, and two outboard modules (44a, 44b) which are pivoted to the sides of the helicopter fuselage so they can be raised or lowered. Each of the modules is in the form of a frame (4) with outlet jets (5) and a covering of mesh (14) to produce fine droplets when subject to an air flow from the main rotor of the helicopter. The modules are connected to the helicopter by quick-release fixings (7), and they can be raised or lowered by a winch and hydraulic or electrical system which can also be connected to a starting and cut-out system for the foam generator. <IMAGE></p> |
