PURPOSE:To prevent the picture or the race of a speaker from being deviated from a screen by detecting the position of the speaker being the object in accordance with a video signal and calculating the deviation or the detected position from the center of the screen to eliminate this deviation. CONSTITUTION:An image pickup element 2 photoelectrically converts the optical image formed on its light reception face by a lens 1 and stores the signal electric charge in the light reception face. The stored signal electric charge is read out as an electric image pickup signal in accordance with the control of a driving circuit 5. The picture read out in this manner can be electrically zoomed by electric expansion and interpolation in the signal processing. An object detecting circuit 7 detects the face of the speaker being the object and calculates and outputs the feature quantity like centroid coordinates. The results are sent to a control circuit 6 through an interface circuit. The control circuit 6 controls the driving circuit 5 based on this information to control the read position of the image pickup element 2. |
