PURPOSE:To provide a KANA(Japanese syllabary)/KANJI(Chinese character) conversion system provided with an adjunct word conversion function capable of performing conversion to the correct notation of an adjunct word without performing the operations of the resegmentation of clauses or the like for the part of the adjunct word of an input character string. CONSTITUTION:Words are retrieved by referring to a dictionary 104 in a dictionary retrieval part 103 based on reading inputted from a reading input part 101, the propriety of connection among the retrieved words is judged in a connection judgement part 107, the connectable words are selected as candidates, conversion to a KANJI/KANA mixed sentence is performed and it is displayed at a display part 108. When it is judged that the first clause of the converted result is converted by an unexpected independent word and it is to be converted to the adjunct word, by pushing an adjunct word conversion key 106, the connection judgement part 107 displays the candidate of the adjunct word for the first clause of the input character string based on inter-word connection relation information through a conversion control part 105. |
