<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a metal detector for detecting a metal in a packaged article and an automatic packaging machine employing the metal detector. CONSTITUTION:The metal detector comprises an oscillation coil 13, and a first receiving coil 11 including a balance receiving coil for detecting a metal contained in an object and disposed oppositely to the oscillation coil 13 through a space for the object. A second receiving coil 12, including an imbalance receiving coil for detecting predetermined quantity of metal contained in the object, is disposed contiguously to the first receiving metal 11. The first and second receiving coils 11, 12 are connected, at one ends thereof, with detection relays 26, 26a through a switch 23.</p> |
