PURPOSE:To provide a negative electrode for lithium secondary battery which has a large charge/discharge capacity and a high electromotive force and is minimized in the deterioration of repeat of charge/discharge, and a lithium secondary battery using this negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:This negative electrode A for lithium secondary battery has a porous material consisting of Li or Li alloy as an active material layer 1 together with a conductor layer 2 and an electrolyte 3. The Li alloy is preferably Li-Ag-Te alloy, and such a starting material is preferably formed into the porous material by means of sintering, pressure casting, or flame spraying. This lithium secondary battery is formed by use of the above negative electrode for lithium secondary battery. |
