PURPOSE:To obtain a new antibiotic substance, capable of manifesting excellent antitumor activities, useful as an antitumor agent and produced by a microorgan ism Streptomyces sp. DQ112 of the genus Streptomyces. CONSTITUTION:This antibiotic substance DQ112-A of the formula. The antibiotic substance DQ112-A is obtained by aerobically culturing a strain, belonging to the genus Streptomyces and having the ability to produce the antibiotic substance DQ112-A, e.g., a Streptomyces sp. DQ112 strain or its variant strain in a liquid culture medium containing a carbon source, a nitrogen source, an inorganic salt and a defoaming agent, etc., at pH 6-8, 15-35 deg.C culture temperature and 150-250 r.p.m. stirring speed for 120-216hr and isolating and purifying the resultant compound from the culture filtrate and microbial cell in the prepared culture according to a conventional method. |
