PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a supercharger due to the reverse operation by arranging a one-way clutch to the power transmission system to distribute the driving force of the engine from a differential mechanism to the supercharger side, and stopping the supercharger when the engine brake is applied. CONSTITUTION:A power transmission device 1 such as a differential drive engine consists of a planetary gear type differential mechanism 3 connected to the engine 13, a transmission 5, a screw type supercharger 7, the power transmission system 9, etc. In this device, a pinion 35 of a speed increasing gear train 27 to constitute the power transmission system 9 is fixed. A one-way clutch 31 is provided on the shaft end of an input shaft 29 of the supercharger 7. This one-way clutch 31 is provided so as to allow the rotation of the supercharger 7 only when a vehicle travels forward. This constitution blocks the rotation in the direction where the direction of the torque applied to a sun gear 23 of the differential mechanism 3 is reversed which is generated when the engine brake is applied to the vehicle, and protects the supercharger 7 from the damage due to the reverse rotation. |
