GUIDE APPARATUS FOR GRIPPER INSERTING TAPE FOR SHUTTLELESS LOOM

PURPOSE: To enabling the self-positioning of lower warp yarns in a shed without stopping the shaking motion of a sley with reeds reeds and to effectively guide an insertion tape. CONSTITUTION: An insertion tape 12 on the end part of which a gripper 11 traveling within an open shed 10 formed with upper and lower warp yarns 6 and 7 is smoothly guided through a convex bearing and guiding surface 19 formed with plural guide teeth 15 placed apart from a sley 1. The center of the surface 19 corresponds with the shaking curve of the sley 1 and the radius of the surface 19 draws an arc equal to the distance between the underside of the tape 12 and the shaking axis of the sley 1. The surface 19 also cooperates with a controlling means comprising a block equipped with both a bend extending in the direction of the warp yarns, installed at the end of a gripper 11 and progressively diminishing down to disappearance and a concave surface formed in the gripper on the lower part of which a generating line lying in the same plane as the underside of the tape 12 is present.
