PURPOSE:To obtain the new compound exhibiting a high lubricating performance under all environments including a severe low humidity environment, useful as a lubricating agent, etc., and providing high durability to metal thin film type magnetic recording media. CONSTITUTION:The compound of formula I {Rf is a 6-50C fluoroalkylether terminal group of formula II or III [(p) is 1-15; (q) is 1-45]; R1 is 8-30C aliphatic alkyl terminal group, aliphatic alkenyl terminal group; R2, R3 are >=1 aliphatic alkylene}, e.g. a compound of formula IV. The compound is obtained by adding the aqueous solution of a weak alkali such as sodium carbonate to the solution of a fluoroalkylether group-having secondary alkylamine (e.g. a compound of formula V) and a omegahaloalkylcarboxylic acid ester (e.g. 3-iodopropionic acid methyl ester) in an equimolar ratio in a protonic solvent such as methylethylketone, thermally refluxing the solution for a dehalogenation reaction and a nitrogen-carbon-binding reaction, and subsequently hydrolyzing the product with a weak alkali. |
