RECEIVER FOR MOBILE COMMUNICATION

PURPOSE:To reduce the consumption of a battery and to make the size small. CONSTITUTION:A reception RF/IF section 13 converts a received signal into an intermediate frequency signal. The intermediate frequency signal is given to a DSP section 21d as a digital base band signal (I and Q signal) via an AGC circuit 21a, an orthogonal demodulation circuit section 21b and an A/D converter 21c. The DSP section 21d is provided with a digital mode function section 211 and an analog mode function section 212 and the digital mode function section 211 uses a base band signal for a demodulation signal in the case of digital mode communnication. The analog mode function section 212 uses the base band signal for a demodulation signal in the analog mode communication. An analog mode control data demodulation section 22 receives an intermediate frequency signal and generates analog mode control data in the case of analog mode line control. Then in the case of the standby mode, power is stzpplied only to the reception RF/IF section 13 and the analog mode control data demodtzlation section 22.
