PURPOSE:To accurately and easily detect the deterioration of the material positioned just under a high temperature member, which is used in the burning gas, by measuring the sound speed of the surface wave on a part, which is evaluated as a damage, with a ultrasonic microscope. CONSTITUTION:The sound speed of the surface wave on a part, which is evaluated as a damage, of a structural member to be used in the high temperature condition is measured by a ultrasonic microscope. generation of a deterioration phase is estimated on the basis of the relation of the sound speed of the surface wave, which is experimentally obtained as a data base, with the shape of the deterioration phase of the surface layer so as to grasp the deterioration condition. In a ultrasonic microscope, the ultrasonic wave generated by oscillators 43C, 43S enters a material 41 to be inspected through a sound transmitting medium 44. The reflected wave UR and the leakage surface wave p thereof are received by each oscillator 43C, 43S, and output as the signals WC, WS. Phase of these signals WC, WS are added so as to obtain the clear reduction curve (VZ curve) having the maximum point and minimum point, and the sound speed of the surface wave is thereby measured. |
