摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a highly functional electrode or jointing material for an electrode and a high molecular electrolytic film by covering the external surface of a porous electrode substrate and the internal surface thereof with high polymer for forming an ion exchange material layer and, then, attaching an electrode catalyst to the surface of the layer. CONSTITUTION:Porous carbon paper made of carbon fiber 3 is used as an electrode substrate. The porous carbon paper is immersed in a Nafion solution and, then, vacuum dried, thereby forming an ion exchange material layer 4 made of ion exchange high polymer on the surface of the carbon fiber 3. Also, the porous carbon paper is structured to have narrow holes continuous from one side to the other thereof. In addition, a catalyst 5 is vacuum deposited on the carbon paper having the layer 4, thereby preparing an ion conductivity imparting electrode 1. In this case, the electrode substrate preferably has a porosity between 35 and 50%.
