PURPOSE:To provide a starter for a sensorless and brushless motor wherein its starting time is shortened possibly responding to different load situations in the case of its starting. CONSTITUTION:A motor 11 has armature coils 11u, v, w and a rotor 11r, and by the drive power supply of a battery 20, voltage are applied to the armature coils 11u, v, w via a switching device 21. Based on the signal sensed by a position sensing means for sensing the position of the rotational magnetic field of the motor 11 by the use of the voltage of the neutral point of the armature coils 11u, v, w, signals are sent from a starting-completion determining part 28 to a drive control part 27 for the motor 11. In the case of starting the motor 11, the switchovers of the excitations of the armature coils are performed at the corresponding period to the number of the startings by the use of a predetermined starting pattern. When the completion of the starting of the motor 11 is determined, the shifting to an ordinary drive operation is performed. When the starting is not completed, the starting operation is performed in the state wherein the number of the repeated startings is increased by one. In this way, while the rotational speed of the motor 11 is reduced, the starting operations are performed until the starting of the motor 11 is made to succeed, and thereby, the starting of the motor 11 is made to succeed responding to different load situations. |
