PURPOSE:To provide a scanner motor capable of preventing an oil component splashed or volatilized from a bearing part from moving toward a rotating polygon mirror and an optical device around the polygon mirror without increasing noise. CONSTITUTION:The inner fixed shaft 2 of the scanner motor is fixed in a housing 1 by a screw 8. The rotating polygon mirror 21 is attached to the shaft 2 through a cylinder part 10 and the bearings 3 and 4. A spiral rib or a groove 20 is formed at least on the lower side of the polygon mirror 21 and on the housing 1 of the scanner motor. When the polygon mirror is rotated, an air current is gnerated with the rotation, however it becomes one going toward the base part of the shaft 2 of the scanner motor so as to prevent the oil component splashed or volatilized from the bearing part from moving toward the rotating polygon mirror and the optical element around the polygon mirror. The wind whistle of the rotating polygon mirror is decreased. |
