PURPOSE:To shorten the time from initializing the position of a rear lens group at the time of turning on a power source till moving the rear lens group to a focusing position again in a camera apparatus using the lens unit of a rear lens focusing system where focusing operation is performed by moving the rear lens group. CONSTITUTION:This camera apparatus is equipped with a storage means 16 storing the position of the rear lens group 1d at the time of turning off the power source as a relative value obtained by setting the position of the lens group 1d focused on a subject which exists at a close point at the position of a zoom lens group 1b at the time of turning off the power source and the position of the lens group 1d focused on the subject which exists at an infinity point as reference; a 1st moving means 11 moving the lens group 1d to a reference position at the time of turning on the power source; a position detection means 8 detecting the position of the lens group 1b after the operation of the 1st moving means 11; and a 2nd moving means 11 moving the lens group 1d to a position calculated based on the position of the lens group 1b and the relative value after the operation of the detection means 8. |
