PURPOSE:To detect highly accurately a line of sight without providing a switch member for detecting the relative position between an ocular part and the position of an eyeball by a method wherein illuminating means are successively switched until a reflected image of the cornea is detected and when the reflected image of the cornea is detected by this switching, the line of sight of an observer is detected from the position of the reflected image of the cornea. CONSTITUTION:A line of sight detecting circuit 101, a light measuring circuit 102, an automatic focus detecting circuit 103, a signal inputting circuit 104, an LCD driving circuit 105, an LED driving circuit 106, an IRED driving circuit 107, a shutter controlling circuit 108 and a motor controlling circuit 109 are respectively connected with the central processing unit 100 of a microcomputor built in a camera main body. The line of sight detecting circuit 101 performs A/D conversion of the output of an eyeball image from an image sensor 14 and transmits this image information to the CPU 100. The CPU 100 extracts each characteristic of the eyeball image being necessary for detecting the line of sight in accordance with a specified algorism and additionally operates the angle of rotation of the eyeball of the subject to be photographed from the position of each characteristic. |
