The continuous reserving and recording control device of a VTR comprises: a pulse generation unit for generating pulses by the rotation of a supply reel and a take-up reel; first and second counters for counting the pulses generated from the pulse generation unit; a tape position data computing unit for inputting the output of the counters and computing a tape position data; a memory unit having a first storing region for storing the tape position data corresponding to the end position of the recording region of the tape and a second storing region for storing the present tape position data; and a micom for comparing the stored data and then generating a control signal to record a program from the end position of the recording region of the tape.
