The fixing process is for a fixing element (1) with shaped surface (1a) to be fixed in a drilled aperture (2) in a structural component (B) made of wood. A tap is used to produce a shaping (2a) which compresses the material. Before the fixing element is inserted in the aperture, the aperture is filled with a hardening mass (3). The dia. of the aperture is 1.4 - 2.0 times the external dia. of the region of the fixing element with the shaped surface. The fixing element may be a stud.
