METHOD FOR DRIVING GHOST REMOVAL CIRCUIT OF VIDEO SIGNAL PROCESSOR

PURPOSE: To suppress a ghost by arranging a specific filter from the cascade connection of recurrent and non-recurrent digital filters. CONSTITUTION: A sound signal from a sound modulator in a television receiver front end 20 is demodulated from a sound carrier heterodined to intermediate frequency by a down converter and modulated at its frequency. The sound carrier modulated at its frequency before demodulation is limited so as to remove an amplitude change and a capture phenomenon suppresses a response to a ghost in a sound signal outputted from the sound demodulator. A composite video signal outputted from the front end 20 is supplied to a ghost suppressing circuit 40 to remove or suppress a following ghost. The circuit 40 includes an adaptive filter circuit and a computer for calculating a parameter for the adaptive filter circuit. A GCR signal separator 45 is constituted as a GCR signal capturing circuit for averaging a vessel chirp extracted from a GCR signal having many continuous fields and each pixel as a reference to suppress a ghost.
