PURPOSE:To obtain a developer carrier body having high durability and stable picture quality by forming a resin coating layer containing dispersion of a pigment treated with silicone oil having nitrogen-contg. heterocyclic rings on a metal cylinder tube. CONSTITUTION:This developer carrier body 11 of a metal cylindrical tube is used for a developing device to develop a latent image formed on a latent image holding body 1 with a developer 4 deposited and carried on a developer carrier body. A resin coating layer 7 containing dispersion of a pigment treated with silicone oil having at least nitrogen-contg. heterocyclic rings is formed on the metal cylinder tube 6. The pigment is, for example, metal powder such as aluminum, copper, and silver, or metal short fiber, carbon black or the like. The purpose to incorporate the pigment into the resin is, for example, to decrease the electric resistance of the resin layer when a conductive fine powder is added, and to improve lubricating property of the surface of the resin layer when a solid lubricant is added. The pigment is treated with silicone oil having nitrogen-contg. unsatd. heterorings and/or nitrogen-contg. satd. heterorings in side chains. |
