The concrete safety barrier (G) and base (1) are poured to form a single unit. The screen is attached to the base by U-shaped iron bars (30, 20) which are attached to the screen and the base (1) respectively so that they interlink. They are then keyed together. The screen has a coating which absorbs noise such as wood concrete. The base (1) is positioned with the safety barrier (G) nearest the road, and the coated side of the screen also faces the road. A metal stay (4) may also be used to hold the screen in place.
