The anti-theft device (2) is locked onto a brake disc (34) which has a hole (38) passing through the motor bike. It comprises a U shaped body (4) having two parallel branches (6,8). The first branch (6) carries at its end a lock (24) having a bolt (28) which moves axially between inactive and active positions. When inactive the free end is located in the first branch of the U. When active it extends through the space (E) between the two U-branches into a coaxial hole (32), at the free end of the second U-branch (8), which forms a catch. A wedging effect is obtained by inclining the bolt relative to the general plane of the two branches. The hole forming the catch has a wall adapted to take the bolt with a limited play. The angle of inclination (alpha) is an increasing function of the play existing between the bolt and the hole forming the catch.
