LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY PANEL AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To expand a visual field angle and to lower the rough feel by disclination by parting the continuity of orientation of liquid crystal molecules at the boundary parts of the electrode parts and non-electrode parts on at least one of electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The segment electrodes 102 on an upper glass substrate 101 and the common electrode 104 on a lower glass substrate 103 are respectively so arranged as to intersect orthogonally with each other. The continuity of the orientation of the liquid crystal molecules 18 parted by the boundaries of the respective pixels or respective small electrodes regulated by the upper and lower electrodes 102, 104. A liquid crystal layer 107 is a chiral nematic phase having positive dielectric anisotropy. The molecular major axis direction of the liquid crystal molecules is substantially parallel with the substrate boundary or has a pretilt angle of <=20 deg. and has plural bearings or various bearings. As a result, the size of the disclination is regularly segmented.
