PURPOSE:To provide an optical switch preventing a worn particle occurring in a drive mechanism for moving an optical fiber from mixing into silicone oil in which an optical connection part of a fiber end surface is dipped. CONSTITUTION:A first optical fiber 2 being a master side optical fiber and a second optical fiber 4 being an (n) side optical fiber are housed in a sealed case 12 together with the silicone oil. The sealed case 12 is moved horizontally onto a base 11 by a first drive mechanism 21, and at this time, a fiber arrangement member 3 supporting the second optical fiber 4 is moved integrally with the sealed case 12. On the other hand, the first optical fiber 2 attached to a movable head 5 of a tip of a movable arm 18 in the sealed case 12 does not move in the horizontal direction integrally with the sealed case 12. The first optical fiber 2 is moved vertically integrally with the movable arm 18 in a prescribed position by a second drive mechanism 36. The first and second drive mechanisms 21, 36 and sensors 60, 61, etc., are arranged on the outside of the sealed case 12. |
