PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device capable of preventing a failure in a transfer such as a void by preventing the fixing and filming of toner on an image carrier and further, miniaturizing a device. CONSTITUTION:This image forming device is provided with the image carrier 1 and a transfer roller 4 in press-contact therewith and rotated at a constant speed and a transfer material 7 is fed to a transfer part between the image carrier 1 and the roller 4, to transfer a toner image on the image carrier 1 onto the transfer material 7. The circumferential speed of the transfer roller is faster than that of the image carrier by 3-15% and the carrying speed of the transfer material in the transfer part is set faster than the circumferential speed of the image carrier by 0.5-2.5%. Moreover, the coefficient of friction between the transfer material and the transfer roller is set 1.0-2.0, the elastic material of the surface of the transfer roller is made of sponge having 20-40 deg.C hardness (ASKER C) and the press-contact pressure of the transfer roller with the image carrier is set 0.5-1.6gf/mm<2>. In this case, as the carrying direction of the transfer material in the transfer position may be either the horizontal direction or the direction opposite to gravity. |
